Cascade Charter Township is accepting applications for temporary election inspectors.
Election Inspectors will conduct assigned duties at a polling site on Election Day. Duties can include (but are not limited to):
- Explaining how to mark the ballot or use the voting equipment
- Monitoring the voting equipment
- Issuing ballots to registered voters
Candidates must possess the following skills/requirements:
- Registered to vote in the state of Michigan
- Quick learner
- Excellent customer service
- Ability to multi-task
- Positive attitude
Inspectors will be required to participate in training on the voting equipment used in Kent County. We will hold multiple training sessions to ensure schedule flexibility. Training dates will be communicated during the hiring process.
Inspectors will also be required to be on site on Tuesday, Aug. 7 and/or Tuesday, Nov. 6 to conduct assigned duties at an assigned polling site in Cascade Township. These shifts will likely require a vast majority of the day. Specific times will be communicated during the hiring process. Inspectors are not required to work both election days, but will have the option to do so.
Those selected will be paid $11 per hour for their time.
Please note: Applicants will not be considered if they are a challenger, candidate, member of a candidate’s immediate family or a member of the local board of canvassers. Applicants may not serve if they have been convicted of a felony or an election crime.
